"Thank you for visiting our website. It highlights the services provided by the Embassy and our offices around France to British visitors and businesses.
I have been Ambassador in France since February 2012. It is a privilege and a delight to serve as latest in a long line of representatives going back to the Duke of Wellington.
I have the job of promoting Britain’s interests and encouraging wherever I can UK-French cooperation to our mutual benefit. The scale of Britain’s engagement in France is enormous. I’ve seen estimates that there are 19 million visits by British people to France every year. Trade between us is worth £60bn. There are major investments in each direction, many of them in high-tech sectors. I am always coming across new sectors in which we are working together.
David Cameron said recently that in the areas like foreign policy and defence "I do not think there has been closer French-British cooperation than at any time since the Second World War."
It is certainly an exciting time to be working for Britain in France."
